What can you do in Siesta Key and the surrounding areas? An easier question to answer is: what can’t you do. For those who love water sports, we have outstanding snorkeling, sailboarding, fishing, and parasailing opportunities. Personal boat and sailing charters are available as well.
Do you enjoy golfing? There are also over 80 courses on the key itself and in close-by Sarasota, including the Arnold Palmer Legacy Course, the Waterlefe Golf and River Club, and Stonybrook, which features a challenging Arthur Hills design.
If nightlife is your thing, then you’ll find much to do in Siesta Village, where a number of clubs offer dancing, live music and some of the best rum and tropical drinks you’ll find anywhere. The more popular spots include the Daiquiri Deck, famous for its frozen daiquiris and gigantic raw oyster bar. The Beach Club has live music and a wide variety of drink specials every day.
If you like great food (and who doesn’t?) then you’ll find dozens of eateries on the key which serve American, German, Asian, French, and other kinds of cuisine, including world-class seafood, of course. No matter what kind of dining experience you’re after, you’ll find plenty of ways to please your palate.
Don’t think that the Siesta Key/Sarasota area is only for adults, though. There are plenty of activities for families and kids as well. The Crowley Museum and Nature Center, located on 190 acres next to the Myakka River, has nature trails, marshes, observation towers, boardwalks, and a pioneer village which recreates life from the late 1800s. The Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex has ice skating, a fitness center, video games, and four separate rooms for holding parties. Pelican Pete’s Playland in nearby Englewood features mini-golf, go-cart tracks, and batting cages. These are just a few of the many fun activities for all ages.
